How to Add Lease Type Details

Step 1: Use the Lease Information Section in Your Listing

  • Start by signing in to your account and going to My Listings.
  • Find the listing you would like to make changes to, and select Edit.
  • Select the Amenities & Details tab on the left:

On the Amenities & Details page, scroll down and you’ll find a section called Lease Information (under Amenities) — this is where you can check off the lease types your property offers:

To reach a wider audience and appear in more search results, check all that apply:

12-Month Lease Standard annual lease
Academic Year Lease Ideal for students on campus from fall through spring (e.g., August-May)
Short-Term Lease Generally under 12 months
Month-to-Month Lease Offers flexible, rolling terms
Semester Lease Works well for fall-only or spring-only renters
Flexible Lease If you’re open to custom lease durations
Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring Sublet For seasonal turnover or internship stays

💡 Tip: If lease types vary by unit, clarify this in your description.

Step 2: Add Lease Details in the Property Description

Students, faculty, and staff want to understand their options clearly. In your property description, be sure to include:

  • Which lease lengths are available (e.g., 12-month, 10-month, 6-month, etc.)
  • Whether move-in/move-out dates are fixed or flexible
  • Whether furnished units are available
  • Any premiums or discounts for shorter stays
  • Renewal or extension policies

📌 Example Add-On:

"Now offering flexible leases for students, visiting faculty, and relocating staff! Options include 12-month, academic-year, semester, or month-to-month leases. Furnished units available. Reach out to learn more about availability and pricing."

Who's Searching for These Options?

  • Undergraduate students needing semester or academic-year leases
  • Graduate students and interns on 3–6 month research or clinical rotations
  • Newly hired faculty/staff relocating to the area who need transitional housing
  • Visiting scholars or adjuncts on short-term teaching appointments
  • International students/faculty who may not arrive or depart on a standard lease cycle

Why This Matters

🎯 More visibility = More leads

Users filter listings by lease type — if your lease options aren’t clearly selected, you may be left out of relevant search results.

💬 Fewer questions, faster decisions

The more clearly you communicate lease terms, the faster serious renters will reach out and commit.

📈 A better match for evolving demand

Universities attract not just students but professionals with unique housing timelines. Properties that show flexibility stand out and lease faster.

⚠️ Don’t Forget:

  • Be honest about what you offer — only check boxes for lease types you truly support
  • If sublets are allowed or furnished options are available, mention it clearly
  • Use the Move-In Options field to reflect your next available date, especially if it aligns with academic calendars
